WOW, I just realized when I woke up this morning that I celebrate 10, yes 10 years in business – today!
It has been 10 fun years, 10 years of ups and downs, 10 years of connecting with new amazing people, including you reading this post. And I want to give you a good offer to celebrate this day – hang on to the end of this blog post to get the details.
Let me just give you a quick flashback on how this all started. I was working as family doctor in a health care clinic in southern Sweden. I loved my job meeting all different kinds of people with all kinds of problems. I got to hear stories never told before and I learned a lot about mankind.
But there was one big problem out of my control and that was the time. Someone else was in charge of my agenda and I am sure you understand what that means. You lose control of your time. I got to short time for each patient and I felt I could not do a good enough job. I started to lay wake at night worrying about everything and I was actually heading towards depression.
I realized I had to do something and decided to take a course in stress management – to help myself. That was my turning point. I clearly saw the need of all the good things I learned – for helping my patients. But since I cannot actively work with health promotion in the health care system I quit my job.
And that is 10 years ago – today!
I remember being scared to death that I would worry even more when I was on my own. But no, that night I slept better than in long. And woke up full of joy!
These 10 years have of course not all been a smooth dance, no they have been like riding on a roller coaster.
The first year I had to work with my mindset, had to rewire my brain from working in a tax-paid organization to working in the open market. That in itself is a long way to go.
Then I met a lady with a very good idea for a health business and I started a company with her. A year and a half later it ended in bankruptcy. I am not going into any details in this but it was a sad story and I had to work hard to get back on my feet.
I had the choice to go back to my old job or to continue my business on my own, and I chose the latter.
The bankruptcy taught me a lot, I also got one big client out of it and now I was able to make all decisions by myself. I tried to pick the golden eggs from it.
This is when my concept AskDrAnnika was borne! With mentoring, speaking, writing books hosting workshops and more, all with focus on helping stressed out leaders, just like you, to find your ideal leadership, to be able to work with harmony and happiness. And I intend to continue for many years to come.
