Start in the right end and make your efforts effective.
If you suffer from overwhelm and stress and pressure it might be hard to know where to begin to get out of it. Being in the hamster wheel it is very hard to see anything at all. You just do whatever come before your eyes and keep on moving without an effective plan. This is very common. Things get out of hand and too many keep on moving until they hit the “wall” – get depressed.

You maybe believe it is a health issue because you start feeling sick. But you usually don’t need a medical doctor, even though it may be nice to also be assured that it is not so bad with your physical health – at this point. (more…)

New era – new leadership roles – more stress?

I guess it is clear to most that we are in the middle of a new “industrial revolution” – that is we go from today’s industrial society towards the future IT society. Well, really we are already there in many ways. Today’s young people have nothing to compare with – since most of them have not experienced the “industrial society”. This transformation will request a lot of new knowledge and skills from everybody dealing with it.

There are so many different opinions about what to eat, when to eat, how to eat, why to eat and countless variations of diets, weight reduction programs, vitamin supplements and so on.

To complicate the issue, food not only is required for nourishment but accompanying our food choices are deep-seated feelings and memories. We use food for all types of celebrations but we also can use or abuse it to numb feelings, or escape – almost like a drug.

There is no need to create crazy “food rules” for yourself but I believe if we know more how it works biologically it can be easier to deal with the diet issue. (more…)

Sleep is one of the greatest gifts that we can give ourselves.

So much of our physical and mental well-being relies on the amount of restorative sleep we are able to get. Our energy reserves, creative abilities and clarity are all strengthened when we experience the recommended 7-9 hours of rest in an evening. However, studies show that less than 40% of people get the full-recommended amount. Between work (and work stress), familial responsibilities and financial burden, sleep can seem very low on the priority list for a lot of people. They don’t realize that the problem is a vicious cycle – stress causes lack of sleep and lack of sleep creates more stress. Goodness! (more…)
