Time to take a virtual helicopter ride
You have gotten yourself out of the Hamster Wheel, started to get to know yourself and started your Mindset shift with a smile. Now is the time to take a good look on your life from above. Imagine that you ride a helicopter and you are hovering above your own person. Take a close look and what do you see? A happy person, a stressed person, a sad person? Or a person who has lost contact with himself and is just indifferent to the situation?

Step 3 to less stress and higher profit – Say it with a smile!
You have stepped off the Hamster Wheel as first step and you have started to get to know yourself as step two. Feels good, doesn’t it? Now is the time for some more mental work in step three. Maybe you have read my earlier blog post “Take care of your brain and the rest will follow”. In it I wrote about Dr Small who had made research around longevity. 5 of his 8 essential points are about the mind and the mindset. You who know me know that my most basic truth is that we have to keep smiling to keep the positive spirals to rule. (more…)

Get to know yourself for better results
Last week we talked about the first step to when the stress eats you, it is getting out of the hamster wheel to be able to think. We talked about making a plan for things you need to do to get back to a fun, fit and successful life. I believe that the second thing to do, when successfully off the Hamster wheel, is to get to know yourself better. Start in the right end and get the best effect
If you suffer from overwhelm from the stress and the press it might be hard to know where to begin. Being in the hamster wheel it is very hard to see anything at all. You just do whatever come before your eyes and keep on moving without an effective plan. This is very common. People in powerful positions are absolutely overrepresented in this group. Things get out of hand and too many keep on moving until they hit the “wall”. At this stage many people go to the doctor because they start feeling sick.

Communicate your wishes before you drive off on vacation!
In the summer most of my clients want to take vacation from their health strategic work too. That does not mean they don’t do their shores in the program but we have no meetings or mentoring calls. One of the pieces of life that we work with in the mentoring sessions is the private life. What is their private situation, how is it affected by the work as business leader or whatever their position is? This is of course an all year round issue but it may be extra delicate during vacation when everybody has expectations for a perfect time.

Doing good for others is doing good for yourself.
I have written about this theme before but I will use it once more because I find it so valuable. By now you know my heart project is Better Globe. I want to tell about a project that Jan Bolmeson, a friend and colleague in the work with Better Globe, started this spring. When we were in Kenya in February this year we, among other things, visited Mboti Primary School. It is situated way out in the middle of nowhere in one of the poorest and driest parts of Kenya. Better Globe is supporting this school through the Donation packages (read more below) but the money is not enough for everything at once. This is where Jan’s idea comes in.
