Today I want to talk about communication and health.
I have during my many years at the health care center noticed that many patients ask for help with problems that are not primarily medical – I would say they are social and psychological issues. But the problems affect their wellbeing and they feel sick and maybe experience stomachache and other stress related symptoms. I have made an effort to listen carefully and I would say that most of these problems are due to lack of communication between the individuals involved. Maybe you have been in a situation like this too?

Did you take the chance to reflect during Easter holiday?
Health is the basis of everything. I guess you recognize my mantra by now. So far everyone has agreed with me and assure me that it is so true. But also so hard to remember in the everyday clutter of things needed to be done. The everyday hamster wheel does not exactly promote good health.
So the hamster wheel is one of the things we need to control. I can just give this advice – take all chances you can get to reflect. Holidays are one of the times when the chances are enhanced. Like Easter with “painting the eggs”.

It always gets down to “Back to basics”
One “worst scenario” I think most speakers and also most leaders have faced is getting sick and losing their voice soon before a big event they are hosting. It can be a nightmare situation and this is the time to do the right things. Not a minute to lose.

Are you and your organization prepared for mishaps?
A week ago my mother fell and broke her left wrist. Just a simple tripping accident right outside her home. She was carrying 2 shopping bags, one in each hand to make the weight even. She is 86 years old and has no home care. 8 hours later after the emergency ward she is back in her apartment, late Saturday evening, with the left arm in a cast and is supposed to make it herself.

Shall doctors only cure or may they also care for good health?
Today I want to discuss the meaning of the words health and healthcare. I have met thousands of patients throughout my carrier. Some I have actually cured, many I have sent to other specialists for adequate help but often my job has been to comfort and to help understand the biology and psychology behind the condition the patient has/feels.
