Today I want to talk to you about transparency and how that connects with stress. Have you ever reflected around this? You know transparency to me is to be open, to be clear and to be honest. The opposite is corruption, to do things behind my back or to cheat on others.
The upside of being transparent is the honesty, to be fair about what really is, and to not hide. Of course on the on the downside it can get you enemies because they don’t like that you are open and you can get very lonely for the same reason and also you do get exposed which might be tough and hard. But you’re still being honest.
The upside of being corrupted is of course the power and also that you might get wealth, not well earned, but still wealth. On the downside you have to hide, you always have to hide and this is where the stress part comes in.
You know stress is not all the things we do, it’s the feelings we have and it’s the inner physiological reaction that we have when our ability and needs are not in line with our responsibilities, they don’t match so you get a bad feeling inside. Part of this is also your driving force, it’s what drives you in the world to do what’s good and what is bad for you.
If we look at the transparency part, you do expose yourself or whatever it is your talking about but you can feel calm about that because you always know it’s the truth because if you always tell the truth you know what you have said. You don’t have to hide anything and you don’t have to try to remember what you said the last time because you just told the truth and that’s easy.
Ok, maybe it’s not always easy but it’s easy to know what you said the last time it might not be easy to say because, the truth, it can be hard stuff. Of course it can.
If you’re on the other side on the other hand then you have to hide. If you have created a story to tell which is, of course, a lie then you have to remember what and to whom you said it to the last time. You have to keep the same lie or lies going when you talk to the same people, otherwise, they can see that you’re not telling the truth because you don’t give the same story. Your new version of events doesn’t fit and then you are seen as a liar and you have to hide even further away.
I think this is one of the big reasons for being transparent, it’s because life gets so much easier even though it might be hard to talk the truth. It gets so much easier because you tell how it is and that is how it is all the time. Isn’t that much nicer to do? That’s what I think anyway.
So I think this being transparent, you could say, is a tool for a less stressed life because if you stick to the truth it’s so much easier and you don’t start those stress systems going. If you do have things that you have or need to reveal or to put out in the open then you have a chance to do something about it, because if it’s out there and open then you can do something about it, if it’s hidden it’s not that easy to do something about.
This is what I work with in my programs. This is because hiding stuff from others is not the only thing we do we also hide things from ourselves. If we can stop hiding and be made more transparent to ourselves that’s when we can do something about the things in our life that stresses us.
That’s what all my work is, it’s to help people figure out what they really need to put out in the open and then change to make them get a better life, an easier life and a smoother life.
I want to help people to make it easier to live a good life and stress is not something that we want to have in abundance.
