People often talk about, almost brag about, how much they have on their to-do list. It has for a long time been high status in being busy – as if the one with the most full agenda wins. And many also claim that they can’t get sick from their long list because they just doing fun things.

They are wrong! It is as simple as that.
There is no such thing as Positive and Negative stress. The reactions to our bodies are the same whatever the reason.

Getting sick from stress is not a numbers game. Stress is not how many bullet points you have on your to-do list. Stress is the physiological process that starts inside your bodies when something stresses you, when you feel insecure and get scared for things you do not feel you can handle. It is all those stress hormones that flood your system that is the stress reaction and make your body and mind malfunction.
Every time you face a problem they flood your system. If you just get a chance to get back to baseline again after every spike it is ok – that is part of normal life.

But if you keep getting that feeling / flooding again and again without getting back to baseline that is when stress starts harming you. When that happens your priority should be to get back to the baseline, to rejuvenate.

Back to the original question – is there positive and negative stress?
The answer is still No! You can have one (1) fun task to do – and still get extremely stressed out because there are some things you don’t understand. At the same time you can have hundreds of boring things to do but you get through it without hassle.
Why? Because it is about mindset and seeing the reality. Not about fun or boring, not about few or many, not about positive or negative.
And it is about mindset to get rejuvenation in time to keep your stress hormone levels low.
