My Story

My journey into stress management began from a deeply personal place. In my early thirties, I lost my brother and my firstborn daughter within a week. This devastating experience left me crushed, but it also sparked a realization. With the support of friends and family, I learned the importance of self-care and discovered the immense power within ourselves to overcome adversity.

Determined to help others avoid the same pitfalls, I dedicated myself to studying stress, mindset, mental health, workplace health, and leadership. This knowledge, combined with my personal experience and my work as a medical doctor, became the foundation for my mission: helping executives and CEOs master their stress to become more effective, impactful leaders, and avoid burnout.

In 2007, I founded AskDrAnnika after earning my certification in stress and wellness. Since then, I’ve continued to grow and learn, taking courses in stress management, workplace health, rehab management, mindset, and change management. My unique approach combines scientific expertise with personal experience, simplifying complex concepts into actionable steps tailored to each individual.

WHY DR. ANNIKA

With over 37 years of experience as a medical doctor specializing in primary care and clinical chemistry, I bring a solid and scientifically proven background to my work. My personal journey through immense stress and loss has equipped me with a deep understanding of the challenges my clients face. I use this combination of professional and personal experience to offer personalized strategies that drive real results.

I am a licensed doctor, certified stress and wellness therapist, and NLP practitioner. My approach is unique because I break down complex biological concepts into easy-to-understand, actionable steps. I believe in personalized care, tailoring my guidance to fit the individual needs of each client.

Dr. Annika Outside Of Work

Family is at the core of my values. Balancing my role as a mother with my demanding career has taught me the importance of prioritizing health and family above all else. I believe that strong family connections and personal well-being are the foundations of a fulfilling life.

I love meeting people and hearing their stories from different walks of life. This broadens my perspective on humanity, helping me understand why people do what they do, and informs my approach to helping others, regardless of their background or experiences.

I also have a passion for textiles, especially those made from natural materials. My father was a chemist at one of the largest factories for cotton fabric, and I often visited his office as a child. This early exposure sparked a lifelong love for sewing, stitching, and crocheting. This creative work has been my form of meditation, a way to be fully present and unwind.
